In a 2012 4th of July concert, Neil Diamond spoke of his inspirational grandmother, who emigrated from Russia to the U.S. as a young girl. She and her daughter inspired his famous song, "America," and helped push him harder throughout his career.

Scott Farber found a similar inspiration in his grandmother, who was brought from Poland to Chicago as a young girl. She was left with family members in Chicago when her parents realized she would have a better life in America.
